The Atwater Market is one of Montreal's top markets and is certainly not easy to miss. It is housed in a building built in the early 1900s which is now one of the city's most recognizable landmarks. The building consists of a brick tower which dominates the nearby streets. The market does not operate only on the inside of the building, there are several farmer stalls on the outside as well. These sell fish, cheese, wine, vegetables, fruit and other produce. The same can be found on the inside including a restaurant.

The Atwater Market was founded in 1933 and its importance has influenced renovations in several areas nearby.
